Human Trafficking

WHAT IS HUMAN TRAFFICKING?

Human Trafficking is the trade in humans for the purpose of sexual slavery, forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. Human Trafficking is modern day slavery. There are 27 million men, women and children enslaved around the world today. It is a 32 billion dollar per year industry.

Children are kidnapped, tortured, raped and stripped of all hope and dignity every single day. Relief efforts attempt to break the bondage that trafficking now has over government, legal forces, gangs and businesses. Girls are rescued, however they face drug addiction, homelessness and have no means to support themselves. As a result many who ae rescued or escape...simply return...

In some of the poorest parts of India entire villages have turned their homes into brothels just to survive. In other poor areas children are simply sold as possessions. Their parents are ignorant to the tragedy that waits.

In the U.S. and Europe, contrary to popular belief, the majority of women considered "prostitutes" or "working girls" are in fact enslaved. Children are kidnapped at a young age and forced into a life of sexual servitude with no hope of escape. Any attempt to refuse this way of life results in horrific beatings, imprisonments, rapes and even death.
